Vegetables tasted VERY fresh, had a homemade flavor in general. Nothing fancy, just hearty. They didn't skimp on beef. Goes great on biscuits or toasted english muffins, still tasty as reheated leftovers the next day. Only complaint is the texture isn't fantastic - no pieces were larger than pea-size, and beef was a little chewy.

Went backpacking in Dolly Sods Wilderness with this and it was a very good meal after a long day. The potatoes and beef were diced kinda small (to speed up rehydration, I'm sure) but the flavor and gravy were spot on! Will definitely eat again.

The vegetables and gravy have excellent taste and texture but give the meat a little extra time to improve the mouth feel. Very filling and great comfort food on a cold day.
